MACHU PICCHU
After waking up at 4:30and getting to Machu Picchu around 6:45 we started the hike up to the sungate in the rain and as we were about 1/2 of the way up the rain quit but it was still a total cloud forest. I was one of the first 6 to the top (yes I still have the adventurer traveller in me) and to see this total cloud forest in the fog open up was one of the most magical experiences I have ever had. All of sudden the sun came out and we saw Machu Picchu open up with our own eyes.. It was unbelievable to see those ruins and to be apart of this history and religion of the Incas. Then we did a lovely tour of the hiearchy (king and queen) housing and the temples. By this time the weather had turned very hot and humid but it was so interesting and we had a tour for about 1 1/2 hours by our talented guide Gabby. What a life changing experience. It was unbelievable and I can't believe that I got to be apart of this experience! Life just keeps getting better-- just follow your dreams and do the things you want.
